Good news all.
May 11th is National ‘Eat What You Want’ Day. That’s a whole day dedicated to the food you love. Where oh where to begin?
Well happily for me May 11th also coincides with America’s National ‘Nutty Fudge’ Day. It’s like fate. Two of my favourite things – fudge and eating lots – combined into one glorious day.
Or how about catching the last day of the Ben & Jerry’s Core Tour for a chance to pick up some free ice cream for the launch of their new core flavours? Today they will be at Imperial College at 12-2pm and Kingston University and town centre at 2.30-4pm. Take a few changes of clothing to disguise yourself and you never know, you may be able to wing a few extra scoops.
If you’re after something savoury, you’ll also be pleased to know May is Burger Month. Take the opportunity to tuck into any number of the amazing burger bars across the capital or play it safe with Gourmet Burger Kitchen’s ‘Special of the Month’. That’s three smaller servings of your favourite burgers – the Taxi Driver, the Frenchie and Habanero – all for £9.95.
For those looking a lighter option, head over to Shake My Shake in Crouch End to purchase five smoothies for the price of four. With low fat flavours like Full of Passion and Raspberry Heaven it’s a healthier way to enjoy your grub.
So even if you want to keep it quiet this Friday, make sure you celebrate the end of your working week and grab a takeaway without feeling too guilty.
